The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:30 pm.
Members present: Supervisors: James Schmidt, Donna Hoeper, and Pete Fernholz;
Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the agenda with corrections to the dates of the upcoming meetings, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the bills in the amount of $54,296.81, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Donna Hoeper to approve the Minutes with corrections to spelling and punctuation, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
TREASURERS REPORT: LMT has a balance of $126,907.74. There are no outstanding checks. The 1099 interest form received from Bremer Bank states there was $15,254.88 in interest earned on the CD in 2019. Christy Tvrdik is waiting to hear back from Bremer regarding a line of credit, if needed before June 2020. A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.

ROAD DISCUSSION:
2019 Paving project:LMT has paid Mark Lee $36,226.38(half of the 10% retainage fee) in February 2020. The final amount of retainage fee will be paid on completion of repairs to driveways and other minor issues.
2020 Town Road Distribution: The 2020 Town Road Account Distribution will be deposited in February in the amount of $24,327.10.
2020 Publication for new gravel and road maintenance quotes: The board reviewed the publication for quotes of gravel and summer / winter maintenance. LMT will publish for quotes only once in the Echo Press. Quotes will be opened at the April 14th monthly meeting.
OLD BUSINESS:
Ordinances & resolutions/Road policies: James Schmidt is working on an all-inclusive road policy and standards for LMT. This will simplify the road information for our LMT residents. Jeff Stabnow and the board will review and finalize the rough draft so we can have a policy in place by May. Jeff Stabnow, Engineer, offered information on a stormwater maintenance policy that could be included also.
Newsletter: The 2020 newsletter is finished and will be mailed to LMT residents tomorrow. Christy Tvrdik suggested that next year LMT uses a local company for the publication and mailing of the newsletter.
Parcel #30-0087-000 Green acres/Special Assessment: The parcel owner has been in contact with the Clerk, and is currently checking on how things were changed with their parcel which no longer qualifies for the Green Acres Program. According to the owners, they are planning on paying the amount due in full.
Forada Fire Christmas Party: Party is rescheduled for February 21, 2020, at the Corral.

NEW BUSSINESS
Community Ed (LAR): Fritz Bukowski and Brandon Ruhr were present to talk and inform LMT about the Community Education Program. Lakes Area Recreation (LAR) has been taken over by the Alexandria School District Community Education Program. The Community Education Program is not funded by the Alexandria School District. 22% of the Community Ed money comes from public funding, and rest is raised by Community Ed. This year the Community Education Program is asking LMT for $3,384.00 in funding for 2021. This amount is based on the population and proximity of LMT to the City of Alexandria. The amount averages out to be approximately $3.00 per resident.
L&R/H&M Storage/Gunderson variance: James Schmidt went to the viewing for the Gunderson variance on Oriole Ln. James Schmidt voiced concerns about snow accumulation in the area and runoff in the spring on behalf of LMT.LMT has no concerns with the H & M storage units.
Special Assessment Payable 2020: Most of the remaining LMT sewer assessments will be paid off with the 2020 taxes. The remaining assessment amount for 2020 is $12,118.28
Review ballot/publish or post and public notices: LMT board reviewed the sample ballot and publication notices for the 2020 Annual Meeting and elections. A motion was made by James Schmidt to post and not publish the sample ballot for the 2020 Annual Election, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
Calendar: The February / March 2020 calendar was reviewed.
Budget request AAEDC, Community Ed (LAR): Budget requests from AAEDC and Community Ed (LAR) were received. They will be addressed at the Annual Meeting.
Mn Benefit Association-Life Ins/ disability option: The life insurance policy for the board members was reviewed and discussed.
MAILBAG: Mailbag was reviewed and discussed.
ADJOURNMENT: A Motion was made by James Schmidt at 9:00 P.M. to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
