The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 pm.
Members present: Supervisors: James Schmidt, Max Radil, and Pete Fernholz;
Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.
A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the agenda with 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Pete Fernholz to approve the claims and disbursements #5960-5974, 941-2022-4, and PERA0123 in the amount of $21,437.59, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the 2022 minutes, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
TREASURERS REPORT: The 2022 year-end is completed and have met with Auditor.
A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR: None
ROAD DISCUSSION: A new curve sign is needed on Lodge Hall Rd.
OLD BUSINESS:
Newsletter: The updated newsletter was reviewed. The newsletter will be finalized for posting at the February meeting.
Heid & Seek report: Heid and Seek took over pest control on January 3rd.
NEW BUSINESS
Report of outstanding indebtedness(bonds): LMT has no outstanding debt.
AAEDC: A discussion was had regarding how the AAEDC contribution is made. Tabled until the February meeting
Serenity Cove: Cindy Forst has requested permission to fill in an existing field drainage ditch on the property and make a new ditch along the East property line. A discussion was had. Runoff is a concern. Tabled until April Road Review when snow is gone.
Furnace Maintenance Contract: A service contract was received from Mission Mechanical. Tabled until the February meeting.
Board of Appeal and Equalization training: Board of Appeal and Equalization training is due by February 1, 2023. James Schmidt and Pete Fernholz are up to date on training. Max Radil will take the Online training.
Noxious Weed report- Weed Inspector Training & Annual Twp meeting March 22, 2023: Noxious Weed report was completed by Pete Fernholz
Alexandria Short Courses- Tentative date March 31st,2023
MAT-U online training: MAT is offering an online training option. The 1st year is a free trial period. Will sign up for the trial period and see what it has to offer.
Annual Meeting/Board of Canvas Meeting: The LMT Annual meeting is March 14th at 8:15, with the Board of Canvas meeting immediately following the Annual meeting.
Filings for affidavits of candidacy: Filling deadline is Tuesday, January 17th at 5:00 PM. There has been one filing for the Treasurer position.
Appoint Election Judges/ Absentee Ballot Board for March 2023: Sue Hanson presented a list of election judges to serve for the Annual Township election and the Absentee Ballot Board. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to approve Resolution 01-23 appointing the Absentee Ballot board for the 2023 March Annual election, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0. A motion was made by James Schmidt to approve Resolution 01-23A appointing the election judges for the March 2022 Annual Election, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
Senior Center Meeting- Jan. 24, 2023@ 10 AM: A informative meeting will be held on January 24th at the Public Works building on the need for expansion of the Senior Center and the possible addition of the YMCA to house a new Senior Center.
Forada Fire Christmas party: The LMT Board has been invited to the Forada Fire/1st Responders Christmas party on Friday, January 13th, at Broadway Ballroom, starting at 6:00 PM.
Land Use/City of Alex Permits: Permits were reviewed.
Calendar: The calendar was reviewed.
Next Meetings-Tues., Feb 14th, 2023: Budget & Audit 5:30 PM, Monthly Meeting 7:00 PM.
MAILBAG- Mailbag was reviewed and discussed.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt at 7:56 PM to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
