Monthly Meeting
October 10, 2023

The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 PM.

Members present Supervisors: James Schmidt, Max Radil, and Pete Fernholz;

Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.

A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the agenda with 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.

A Motion was made by Pete Fernholz to approve the claims and disbursements #6127-6140, PERA, and 941-2023-3 in the amount of $11,838.71, 2nd by James Schmidt.  Motion carried 3-0.   

A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the September 2023 minutes, 2nd by. Pete Fernholz Motion carried 3-0.

TREASURERS REPORT: LMT has a balance of $881,680.00 There are no outstanding checks. A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.        

ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR:  None

ROAD DISCUSSION:

Approach permit Gavin Nelson: An approach permit was received from Gavin Nelson for an approach on Serenity Drive.

Certify Township roads: Lake Mary Township received a list of Township roads with mileage from Public Works. A discussion was had. Roads and mileage are correct.

OLD BUSINESS:  

Auditor for year-end 2023: Dean Birkeland, representing Carlson SV CPAs and Advisors was present. An audit letter proposal was presented. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt accepting the 3-year audit proposal from Carlson SV to serve as the auditing company for Lake Mary Township for the years ending 2023, 2024, and 2025, 2nd by Max Raidl. Motion carried 3-0.

  NEW BUSINESS

ALASD 2024 sewer allocation $55,218.00: A letter was received from ALASD stating the sewer allocation for Lake Mary Township will be $55,218.00 for the year 2024.

Claim #6116:The check for claim #6116 was written incorrectly for $99.00 instead of $99.99 to Douglas Co. Public Works, DCPW has credited LMT for the $.99. A new disbursement sheet was printed showing the corrected amount.

2024 Monthly meetings/year end: A discussion was had. The 2024 January meeting will be moved to the 3rd Tuesday of the month January 16, 2024. The February meeting will be moved to Monday, February 19, 2023, with the Budget and Finance meeting held at 5:30 PM followed by the regular monthly meeting at 7:00 PM. Due to the Annual meeting on March 12, 2024, the March regular monthly meeting will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 7:00 PM.

Dangerous dog permit: A dangerous dog permit was issued by Douglas County for a resident on Little Mary Circle.

Land use/sewer permits: LUPs were reviewed.

MAT-Annual Conference- December 7th-9th, 2023 in St. Cloud at Rivers Edge Convention Center

Calendar: The October and November calendars were reviewed.

Next Meeting November 14th, 2023 @ 7:00 PM

MAILBAG- The mailbag was reviewed and discussed. Information was received on the proposed Big Sone South to Alexandria transmission line (BSSA) from Ottertail Power and Missouri River Energy that will run through LMT. A discussion was had. Max Radial will attend the informational meeting that will be held on October 23rd from 3-6:00 PM at the Broadway Ballroom in Alexandria.

A Motion was made by Max Radil at 7:57 PM to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
