Monthly Meeting
June 11, 2024
 

The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 PM.

Members present Supervisors: James Schmidt, Max Radil, and Pete Fernholz, Pete arrived at 7:30 PM—clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the agenda with gravel application added to chloride 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 2-0.

A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the claims and disbursements #6262- 6274, and PERA0624 for $54,294.21, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 2-0.   

A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the May 2023 minutes, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 2-0.

TREASURERS REPORT:  There is one outstanding check. A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 2-0.     

ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR:  None

ROAD DISCUSSION:

Chloride/gravel application: Chloride is being delivered tomorrow, June 12th. Hvezda Excavation has not yet applied the new gravel to any of the roads that will have chloride applied. LMT had to have Runge Grading apply gravel to Oriole Lane and Hiebel Road as they are chloride roads and needed to be graveled before the chloride   is applied.

Approach application/Road Policy: Tabled until the July meeting.

Approach applications: LMT has 2 new approach applications, which have been approved.

OLD BUSINESS: 

Auditor report for 2023-year end: Dean Birkeland, representing Carlson SV CPAs and Advisors, was present to review the 2023-year-end audit report and findings for LMT. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to accept the auditor report for the 2023 year-end, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.

 BSSA: Max Radil attended the June 3rd meeting. A discussion was had. BSSA presented a tentative route map. There will be a meeting on June 17th with the Public Utilities Commission and another Open House meeting on June 24th.

  NEW BUSINESS:

Security Assessment: LMT is not interested in having a security assessment done for election purposes at this time.

Townhall rules & regulations: Sue Hanson drew up a rules and regulations sheet to be followed by the renters of the Lake Mary Townhall, regarding clean up, decorations, and arrangement of the hall. The rules will be posted in the furnace room, not following these rules will result in deposit money not being refunded.

Mn State Demographics: As of April 2023, LMT has an estimated population of 1,176 and a household estimate of 442.

Calendar: June and July calendars were reviewed.

MAT member cards: 2024 MAT member cards were distributed to the board.

Land Use Permits/Sewer hook-ups/Land & Resource: LUPs and sewer hook-ups were reviewed.

MAILBAG- The mailbag was reviewed and discussed.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt at 8:28 PM to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
