The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 PM
Members present: Supervisors: James Schmidt, Donna Hoeper, and Pete Fernholz;
Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the agenda, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve disbursements and claims #5631-#5641, and PERA0521 in the amount of $66,668.07, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Donna Hoeper to approve the April 2021 monthly minutes with punctuation corrections, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Donna Hoeper to approve the 2021 Reorganizational meeting minutes, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Donna Hoeper to approve the Board of Equalization 2021 minutes with corrections, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
TREASURERS REPORT: LMT has a balance of $812,558.56 There are no outstanding checks. The bank transition had been made. The LMT account at Bremer Bank has been closed and monies have been transferred into a new account with Bell Bank. A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR: New backup hard drives need to be purchased for the new laptop computers. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the purchase of new hard drive backups for the laptop computers, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
ROAD DISCUSSION:
Road review: Road recommendations were reviewed and discussed.
Approve Road Review minutes: A motion was made by Donna Hoeper to approve the 2021 road review minutes, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion Carried 3-0.
Quotes-Hummingbird Way: Quotes for Hummingbird Way were received from Riley Brothers and Central Specialties with the options of repairing or full-depth reclamation and overlay. Full-depth reclamation quotes were, Riley Brothers-$129,485.25, and Central Specialties-$130,787.50. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to do only repairs on Hummingbird Way using Riley Brothers, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0
Robin Ln: There was no representation present from Robin Lane at the meeting so no discussion was had.
OLD BUSINESS:
Viking Sportsman East Lake Mary Rd.: Viking Sportsman will not be allowed to place a gate on East Lake Mary Rd due to the DNR having an easement.
Lake Andrew Estates 3rd Edition/sewer: The installation ofthe proposed subordinate sewer line is in process.
Sewer Permit- Meyer- Little Mary Circle: A sewer permit and hookup fees have been received for parcel # 30-0399-000. The connection had been done under the road.
Swing Away Mailboxes: The list for Swing Away mailboxes to be installed in 2021 was reviewed and discussed. Alvero LLC will be contacted and given information.
Fisher (Schnuckle) Oriole Ln-Easement takeback: James Schmidt spoke with Paul Johnson, lawyer, who is currently reviewing. More discussion will be had as we receive more information from the lawyer
Board of Appeal and Equalization actions report: Board of Equalization meeting was held. Parcel 30-0426-000 was appealed. The Board agreed to adjust the value of parcel 30-0426-000 by reducing it to $196,000.00 for L & K Recreation LLC.
NEW BUSINESS
Cottage Grove 3.2% beer license: Application for a 3.2% beer license was received for Cottage Grove. A motion was made by Pete Fernholz to approve the 3.2 % beer license for Cottage Grove, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
Variance Big Foot Resort: A hearing for the variance for Big Foot Resort is scheduled for this evening. The concerns were the location of storage sheds and boat slips. Follow-up will be at the June meeting.
District 206 Special School Board Election: LMT has been notified that there will be a special election held in November to fill a school board position. If more than two candidates file there will also need to be a primary election held in August. Lake Mary Townhall will serve as the voting precinct for Lake Mary Township, Holmes City Township, and Reno Township.
American Rescue Plan Act(The Act) Funding: More information is still coming out regarding The Act funding. No monies have been received yet by LMT.
Calendar: The May and June calendars were reviewed and discussed
