Lake Mary Township Monthly Meeting – April 11, 2017
Meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by James Schmidt with the pledge to the flag.
Motion by James, 2nd by Dean to approve agenda with additions, motion carried 3-0
Motion by James to approve bills in the amount of $23,722.82, 2nd by Donna, motion carried 3-0
Motion by Donna to approve minutes, 2nd by James, motion carried 3-0
Motion by James, 2nd by Dean to approve the Treasurers report, motion carried 3-0
Discussion with Runge Grading regarding the update on pricing and selection of road review date is set for April 21st at 8am.
Discussion was had on Serenity Cove at great length regarding ponds and storm sewer. As of now, Lake Mary Township will stand by original motion made last month.
The board discussed a concern with Holmes City First Responders and their potential lack of liability insurance. Dean will check this out.
A letter was received and read out loud from Linda Dokken-McFann requesting we move the Tuesday in which the meeting was held, as it conflicts with the Douglas County Meeting. The board discussed it, and determined that if we need to be at the Douglas County Meeting, one of the three supervisors will attend the meeting.
Dean made a motion for James to remain chair, 2nd by Donna, motion carried 3-0
Donna made a motion for Dean to be Vice Chair, 2nd by James, motion carried 3-0
All Rates and per diems to remain the same with the exception of Clerk, which will move to $345/month, motion by James, 2nd by Donna, motion carried 3-0
Fees are as follow: Meeting Per Diem at $70, Treasurer stipend of $300/mo, Clerk Stipend $345/mo, Election Judges - $16/hour, Labor - $16/hour, Mileage - .535 per mile.
Gravel Bids were opened. The township received two bids, one from Sondrol and one from Hvezda. The lowest bid was Hvezda at 7.70. Motion made by Dean, 2nd by Donna to approve Hvezda for gravel bid, motion carried 3-0
Motion by James, 2nd by Dean to make Echo Press the designated newspaper. Motion carried 3-0
Motion by James, 2nd by Dean to make Bremer Bank the designated bank. Motion carried 3-0
Motion by James, 2nd by Dean to set Gopher prices to $4 per pocket and .25 per striped, motion carried 3-0
Chloride and potential resolution will be discussed at the upcoming road review.
The board discussed the need for contractors to hold liability insurance at a minimum of 1.5 million.
The township will be setting up township only email account that the supervisors will have access to.
Mail bag was looked at and discussed.
James made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:48pm, 2nd by Dean, motion carried 3-0.
