The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 PM.
Members present Supervisors: James Schmidt, Max Radil, and Pete Fernholz;
Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.
A Motion was made by Max Radl to approve the agenda with Road Policy added under roads, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Pete Fernholz to approve the claims and disbursements #6218- 6247, PERA, and 941-2024-1 in the amount of $67,795.91, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the March 2024 minutes, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the 2024 Board of Canvas minutes, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
TREASURERS REPORT: There is one outstanding check. A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR: Resident, Eric Fredricksen, was present to inquire about the procedure to get Pheasant Way and Oriole Lane blacktopped. A discussion was had and the procedure was explained.
ROAD DISCUSSION:
Open gravel quotes: One gravel quote was received from Hvezda Excavating for $11.00 per yard for Class 5 gravel, hauled and spread with trucks. A discussion was had. The gravel delivery will need to be done no later than 07-31-24, and gravel will also be tested by the county to verify that it falls within the Class 5 range. All roads that are due to be graveled and have chloride applied, need to be graveled before chloride application, if Hvezda Excavation cannot get those roads done, LMT will have Runge Grading step in and help out with getting gravel applied before chloride. A motion was made by James Schmidt to accept the gravel quote from Hvezda Excavating, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
Open summer and winter maintenance quotes: One quote was received from Runge Grading for the summer and winter maintenance. A discussion was had. A motion was made by Max Radil to accept both the summer and winter maintenance quote from Runge Grading, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
Road review/notes- confirm date: The road review will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, starting at 8:00 AM.
Frontage Road grant application: The grant application for the blacktopping of Frontage Road was denied.
Pospisil Dr.-Truck traffic: A resident on Pospisil Dr wanted the LMT Board to be aware of the heavy truck traffic on the road.
Cross Country Ln. Mailbox vandalism: Several Cross-Country Lane Swing Away mailboxes were vandalized and stolen. It has been reported to local law officials by the residents. There is nothing LMT can do.
Serenity Dr.: The County reported that the Serenity Drive road sign is pointing in the wrong direction. Jeff Runge will take care of this.
Road Policy: Douglas County is talking about changing some details in its road policy. A discussion was had. Max Radil will keep on top of this in case LMT has to change some things in our policy to match the Counties.
OLD BUSINESS:
Board of Appeals & Equal. Meeting: Monday, April 15th @ 9:00 AM.
Meeting reviews:
DCAT: Douglas County talked about the details of their road policy.
Noxious Weed: Pete Fernholz attended, nothing new to report.
Spring Short Course: There was agreed upon disappointment of the LMT Board, in the courses that were held at the Spring Short Course this year.
NEW BUSINESS
Calendar April & May 2023: Calendars were reviewed.
Land & Resource/LUP: No LUP’s to report.
