UNAPPROVED
The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 pm.
Members present: Supervisors: James Schmidt, Max Radil, and Pete Fernholz;
Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.
A Motion was made by Pete Fernholz to approve the agenda with 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the claims and disbursements #5935-5959 and PERA1222 in the amount of $82,251.77, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Pete Fernholz to approve the 2022 minutes, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
TREASURERS REPORT: LMT has a balance of $815,509.27. There are no outstanding checks. A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR: None
ROAD DISCUSSION: A discussion was had on plowing for the predicted upcoming storm.
OLD BUSINESS:
Newsletter: A discussion was had; changes and additions will be made and reviewed at the January meeting.
The filing period for March elections is Jan.3rd, 2023-Jan.17th,2023 @ 5 PM: The filling period for elected township positions of 1 Supervisor-3-year term and 1 Treasurer 2-year term.
Review MATIT Liability Coverage: The policy was reviewed and discussed. A motion was made by James Schmidt to leave coverage as is, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
Hazardous Mitigation Plan: Information on the Douglas County Hazardous Mitigation Plan was discussed.
NEW BUSINESS:
Variances:
Hillstrom Marsh-Section 3, Lake Mary Township
5357 CO Rd 21. Variance to allow the platting of land within the residential zoning district without requiring connection to central sewer (ALASD). LMT attended the viewing. A discussion was had, and LMT accepts the variance.
Curtis A & Colleen L Schaffran -Section 12, Lake Mary Township,1072 Robin Lane SW for a variance to allow a subdivision to create one lot without platting. LMT accepts the variance.
Jacqueline H & Jeffrey M Reed- Section 24, Lake Mary Township
H & M Storage, State Hwy 29 for a conditional use permit for a 51-unit commercial planned unit development, and a variance to allow a commercial planned unit development that exceeds 25% impervious surface coverage and platting without frontage on a public right of way. LMT attended the viewing. A discussion was had.
Engagement Letter Auditor- Brian Koehn CPA: An Engagement letter was received from Brian Koehn CPA for the year-end 2022. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to use Brian Koehn CPA for LMT's 2022 year-end, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
Special assessment year-end report: There is 1 assessment left on the LMT sewer, which will be paid off next year, and no outstanding assessments for the swing away mailbox supports payable in 2021 and 2022.
Heid Extermination: Lake Mary resident, Andy Heid, sent a proposal to LMT for pest control. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to discontinue using Plunkett’s for pest control and go with Heid N Seek pest control starting in 2023, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
Year-end/ January meeting: A discussion was had. OK to leave January 2023 meeting on the 10th, year end should be able to be completed prior.
Set up meetings- Board of Audit/ regular March Meeting: A discussion was had. The Budget and Audit meeting be held on February 14th starting at 5:30 PM, before the regular monthly meeting. The March 14th monthly meeting will be changed to Monday, March 13th due to Township Day and elections on March 14th.
Calendar: December calendar was reviewed.

MAILBAG- The mailbag was reviewed and discussed.
