The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 pm.
Members present; Supervisors: James Schmidt, Max Radil, and Pete Fernholz;
Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the agenda with Swing-Away Mailbox Supports added under Roads, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the claims and disbursements #5990- 6008, and PERA for $27,631.84, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the February 2023 minutes, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the Board of Audit 2023 minutes, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
TREASURERS REPORT: A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR: None
ROAD DISCUSSION:
Chloride-19,358 gallons (2022) &16,694 gallons (2021): A discussion was had. A decision was made to go through Douglas County Public Works for chloride. LMT will submit a request for 19,000 gallons for 2023.
Set date for Road Review: A tentative date of April 28th at 8:00 AM was set for the 2023 road review.
Swing Away Mailbox Supports: Some of the installed mailbox supports are too low. These supports will be reviewed and documented for adjustments at the 2023 road review.
OLD BUSINESS
Budget Update: The 2024 budget request was received from the Alexandria Fire Dept. after the February Budget and Audit meeting, also the snow and ice budget allowance was revisited after looking at costs for January and February. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to amend the budget amount for the Alexandria Fire Dept. by $260.00 bringing it from $22,000.00 to $22,260.00 and to amend the budget amount for snow & ice removal by increasing it by $15,000.00 bringing it from $45,000.00 to $60,000.00, making the new proposed levy $453,834.00, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
Summary of 2023 Town Taxes Voted: 2023 Town Tax Voted amount was reviewed.
Minutes: A discussion was had on posting the LMT cash control total on the website. A motion was made by James Schmidt to leave the cash control total off the minutes posted on the LMT website, which could subject the Township to attacks from fraudulent businesses, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0. Residents will still have access to this information by request.
Right to Vote Bill: On March 3, 2023, Governor Walz signed legislation restoring the right to vote to all Minnesotans who are no longer incarcerated. The law does not take effect immediately. The current effective date of this legislation is July 1, 2023. There is a possibility that the date will change to June 1, 2023, to accommodate those jurisdictions with August primaries.
November elections: Information was again received for Townships interested in moving to November elections.
Summary of 2023 Assessments: The summary of assessments were received from the Douglas County Assessors office
Kensington Bank: Information was received from Kensington Bank on what offers they have for Township accounts.
Noxious Weed/DCAT meetings: The Noxious Weed/DCAT meetings will be held on March 22.
Reorganization meeting- set date: A discussion was had, the Reorganization meeting will be held on April 11, 2023, at 5:30 PM, before the regular monthly meeting.

Land Use Permits: LUPs were reviewed.
Calendar: The March and April calendars were reviewed and discussed.
MAILBAG- The mailbag was reviewed and discussed.
