The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 pm.
Members present: Supervisors: James Schmidt, Max Radil, and Pete Fernholz;
Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.
A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the agenda with 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the claims and disbursements #5975- 5989, and PERA0223 in the amount of $19,111.94, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made Pete Fernholz by to approve the 2023 minutes, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
TREASURERS REPORT:. A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR: None
ROAD DISCUSSION:
LaGrand Road agreement-West Lk Mary Rd: A revised road agreement was received from LaGrand Twp. for the yearly maintenance of .41 miles of Co. Rd 91 SW, now known as West Lake Mary Dr. Stating a rate increase from $2600.00 to $2800.00 due to the increase in cost in fuel, salt/sand, etc. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to accept the revised road agreement for the .41 miles of West Lake Mary Rd from LaGrand Township, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
2023 Publication for new gravel and road maintenance quotes: The publication for the 2023 road maintenance quotes was reviewed and discussed.
Serenity Sign: The street sign for Serenity Dr. is gone, and needs to be replaced.
OLD BUSINESS:
Newsletter: The final draft of the 2023 newsletter was reviewed and OK’d.
AAEDC: A discussion was had. A new resolution will be looked at during the Reorganizational Meeting in April.
Furnace/AC maintenance agreement: Furnace and AC maintenance contract quotes were received from Mission Mechanical and Ellingson’s Plumbing and Heating. A discussion was had. A motion was made by Max Radil to accept the maintenance quote from Ellingson’s, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Budget 2024: The estimated proposed 2024 budget and the levy were determined at the Audit and Budget meeting. The estimated proposed budget and levy for 2024 is $438,574.00. This, however, does not include the amount for the Alexandria Lakes Area Sewer District (ALASD) sewer bond and interest.
Census- LMT Boundaries: There are no changes to report at this time.
Review ballot/publish or post and public notices: The ballot for the LMT Annual Election was reviewed. A notice of the township election including an alternate bad weather date will be published and posted. A motion was made by Pete Fernholz to post and not publish the sample ballot, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0
ALASD Public Hearing: Max Radil attended the ALASD public hearing and reported on the updates and improvements that need to be made to keep the facility up to date. A discussion was had.
Mn Benefit Association-Life Ins: The life insurance policy was reviewed.

Set date for Reorganization Meeting /Road Review: The dates for the Reorganization Meeting and road review will be set at the March monthly meeting.
Calendar: The calendars for February and March were reviewed.
Land Use Permits: LUP's were reviewed and discussed
Budget requests: 2024 budget requests have been received from Comm. Ed/AAEDC/ Senior Center/ Lowry Fire/ Forada Fire/ Holmes City 1st Responders/ Historical Society.
MAILBAG- The mailbag was reviewed and discussed.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt at 7:54 PM to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
