Monthly Meeting
December 12, 2023

 

The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 PM.

Members present Supervisors: James Schmidt and Pete Fernholz; Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik. Max Radil was not present.

 A motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the December agenda, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 2-0.

A Motion was made by Pete Fernholz to approve the claims and disbursements #6154-6172 and PERA1223, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 2-0.   

A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the November 2023 minutes, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 2-0.

TREASURERS REPORT: A Motion was made by Pete Fernholz to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 2-0.         

ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR:  None

ROAD DISCUSSION:

     Approaches: Gavin Nelson’s Approach has been approved.

OLD BUSINESS:  

Newsletter: Tabled until the January meeting

Filing period for March elections Jan.2rd, 2024-Jan.16th ,2024 @ 5 PM

Review MATIT Workman’s Comp Coverage: Coverage was reviewed and discussed.

BSSA-Powerline: Max Radil attended another informational meeting, he was not present tonight, so will be discussed at a later date.

Solar Farm: Another meeting is being held tonight at the Douglas County PAC/BOA for the Fern-Roth 40-megawatt Solar Farm. A discussion was had.

LRIP Grant: James Schmidt has submitted the application for the LRIP Grant for the Frontage Rd.

ALASD project/ ALASD Board Member: James Schmidt attended the ALASD public meeting for the sewer project on Maple Lake. A discussion was had. Gaylen Lerohl has agreed to represent Lake Mary Township on the ALASD Board for two years.                                                                                     

  NEW BUSINESS

Write-in Resolution 12-23:   Governing Write-In Vote Counting Resolution 12-23 was discussed. A motion was made by James Schmidt to adopt the Governing Write-In Vote Counting Resolution12-23, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 2-0.

Trees on townhall property: Donny Trousil will remove the fallen trees on the Lake Mary Townhall property in exchange for the wood, but will not be removing the brush. A motion was made by James Schmidt to hire Shawn Doherty to chip the brush, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 2-0.

Noxious Weed Report: The report was filled out by Pete Fernholz, weed inspector for LMT. Sue Hanson will submit it.

Forada Fire Christmas party- Jan. 12th, 2024

Calendar: December and January calendars were reviewed.

Next Meeting Jan.16, 2024, @ 7:00 PM

Land Use Permits: LUPs were reviewed.

MAILBAG- The mailbag was reviewed and discussed.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt at 7:23 PM to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 2-0.
