The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 pm.
Members present: Supervisors: James Schmidt, Donna Hoeper, and Pete Fernholz;
Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the agenda with 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the claims and disbursements #5642-5657 and PERA0621 in the amount of $28,467.68, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Donna Hoeper to approve the 2021 minutes with punctuation and verbiage correction, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
TREASURERS REPORT: LMT has a balance of $751,960.68. There are no outstanding checks.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR: A complaint was received about branches left on and by the road on Lake Andrew Road after trimming was done in the road right of way. Runge Grading will be informed of this.
ROAD DISCUSSION:
Swing Away mailboxes: Installation of the SwingSafe supports systems will start on June 9th. The height of the supports on Hummingbird Way will be increased by 2" to allow for an increase in road height when the blacktop is redone. Information informing the LMT residents about the installation was posted at the town hall and on the website, an announcement will also be broadcast on KXRA.
Hummingbird Way: The repair of the blacktop on Hummingbird Way is scheduled for the end of the season.
Little Mary Circle: Complaints have been received that the section of road that was opened to access sewer has settled. Paz Excavation has been notified and LMT placed warning cones.
OLD BUSINESS:
Hearing on the Lake Andrew 3rd Addition sewer: A public hearing was held at 6:00 PM June 8th regarding the Subordinate Service District for the Lake Andrew Third Addition, including the following parcel code numbers: 30-0276-800, lots 1-6 of Block Three of the Lake Andrew Estates Third Addition. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to approve Resolution 06-21, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
Big Foot Resort- sewer hook-up: Bigfoot resort will be hooking up RV sites to an existing hub and are not planning on placing a new hub. According to ALASD, the existing pumps in the area are large enough to handle the additional flow. There will be no charge to hook up the RV sites unless a new stub is installed
Fisher (Schnuckle) Oriole Ln-Easement takeback: The lawyer is still reviewing the takeback request.
Plastic Culvert Serenity: A letter was sent to the resident on Lot 9 regarding the plastic culvert in approach. LMT has received no response from the landowner. A 2nd letter will be sent certified mail.
Special Dist. 206 School Board election: Three people have filed for the one-year vacancy position on the Alexandria District 206 School Board. There will need to be a primary election held on August 10th. LMT will be the polling place for LMT, Holmes City Township & Reno Township. The LMT monthly meeting is scheduled for August 10th and will need to be rescheduled. A motion was made by James Schmidt to Move the August meeting to August 9th at 7:00 PM and to keep the rental fee for use of the town hall by District 206 at $200.00 per election, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) monies: The ARPA monies are still pending, informational webinars will be available through MAT on the ARPA monies shortly.
NEW BUSINESS:
Auditor Report & findings: Brian Koehn, CPA was present and reviewed the 2020 audit findings. LMT had 3 minor findings in the report, everything else was good.
Calendar: The June and July Calendar was reviewed.
MAT member cards: MAT membership cards were distributed to the Board members.
MAILBAG- Mailbag was reviewed and discussed.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt at 8:04 PM. to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
