The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 8:00 PM.
Members present Supervisors: James Schmidt, Max Radil, and Pete Fernholz;
Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.
A Motion was made by Pete Fernholz to approve the agenda with 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Pete Fernholz to approve the claims and disbursements #6203-6217 and PERA0324 in the amount of $10,077.74, 2nd by Max Radil Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Pete Fernholz to approve the February 2024 minutes, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the 2024 Budget and Audit Meeting minutes, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
TREASURERS REPORT:8 There are no outstanding checks. A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR: None
ROAD DISCUSSION:
Chloride-(2022) 19,358 gallons @ $1.279 &(2023)16,499 gallons @ $1.485: A discussion was had. LMT will request 20,000 gallons of chloride through Douglas Co. Public Works for 2024.
County Road 4- appraisals: Pete Fernholz met with Michael Swartz who is working on appraising the easements for the widening of County Rd #4. A discussion was had.
Set Date for Road Review: The road review will be held on April 19th starting at 8:00 AM.
OLD BUSINESS:
Budget Update: LMT received new numbers from Alexandria Fire. The new estimated budget is now $494,990.00.
Solar Gen-Fern Roth: James Schmidt and Max Radil attended the Land & Resources hearing. LMT stated that there will need to be a road agreement put in place before the solar farm is constructed to protect LMT from costs done from damage by the heavy equipment that will travel down Cross Country Lane and Waterfowl Drive. The agreement will need to be written up by an engineer and lawyer, LMT will request Solar Gen cover the cost of this agreement. A statement was made by Pete Fernholz that he will be refraining from any conversation, decisions, and motions that have to do with the Fern-Roth Solar farm, due to a conflict of interest.
PNP Election: LMT had 151 voters for the PNP election
NEW BUSINESS
Summary of 2023 Town Taxes Voted: The summary of the 2023 Town Taxed Voted with the ALASD amount added in was reviewed.
Publications-Echo Press/Column: The Echo Press is now using a new self-serve option, Column, for placing legal ads and public notices. The payment needs to be done by credit card. Sue Hanson will place the costs on her card and submit a claim for reimbursement.
Rental of town hall request: A request was made by an LMT resident to use the hall for a quilting group once a month. A discussion was had. The cost would be the regular $60.00 rental fee.
Summary of 2024 Assessment: The summary of the 2024 assessments from the Douglas Co. Assessors office was reviewed
