Reorganizational Meeting

April 14, 2020

 

The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 6:30 PM.

Members present: Supervisors: James Schmidt, Donna Hoeper, and Pete Fernholz;

Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.

A motion was made by Donna Hoeper to appoint James Schmidt as Chairman, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.

 A motion was made by Donna Hoeper to appoint Pete Fernholz as Vice- Chairman, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0

A Motion was made by Donna Hoeper to approve the agenda, 2nd by Pete Fernholz.      Motion carried 3-0.        

Wages

  • Officer Pay :
    • Supervisors: Currently $20 /hour plus Per Diem. A motion was made by James Schmidt to keep the Supervisor wage at $20/hour plus Per Diem, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion Carried 3-0.
    • Treasurer: The current salary is $345/month plus Per Diem. A motion was made by James Schmidt to raise the Treasurer salary to $365.00, 2nd by Pete Fernholz.  Motion carried 3-0.
    • Deputy Treasurer: Currently $20/ hour.  A motion was made by James Schmidt to keep the Deputy Treasurer wage at $20.00/hour, 2nd by Pete Fernholz.  Motion carried 3-0.
    • Clerk: Current salary $400/month plus Per Diem. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to keep the clerk’s salary the same, with the exception the clerk will get paid an hourly wage above monthly salary when serving as an election judge or extra election duties that are beyond the normal clerk duties, 2nd by Donna Hoeper.  Motion carried 3-0. 
    • Deputy Clerk: Currently $20/ hour.  A motion was made by James Schmidt to keep the Deputy Clerk wage at $20.00/hour, 2nd by Pete Fernholz.  Motion carried 3-0.
    • Per Diem: Per Diem is currently $75.00 per meeting. A motion was made by James Schmidt to keep the Per Diem at $75.00, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
    • Election judges: Currently $16/hour. A motion by was made by James Schmidt to keep election judge wages the same, but raise the Head Judge wage to $18/hour, 2nd by Pete Fernholz.  Motion carried 3-0.
    • Mileage: Currently $.58 /mile. Federal rate has decreased to $.57.5/ mile.
  • Official Newspaper: Currently Forum Communications (Echo Press).  A motion was made by Donna Hoeper to continue with Forum Communications as LMT’s official newspaper, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
  • Official Bank: Currently Bremer Bank. A motion was made by Donna Hoeper to continue with Bremer Bank as LMT’s official bank, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
  • Gopher Bounty: Currently $5/pocket and $0.50/striped.  A motion was made by James Schmidt to keep gopher bounty the same, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
  • Office Supplies: A discussion was had. The laptop computer will need to be updated with software and possibly more memory. A motion was made by James Schmidt for an allowance up to $500.00 to update the laptop, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
  •  Contractor insurance- LMT has current liability insurance forms for Runge Grading, Jeff Stabnow, Mark Lee, Sondrol Excavation, and Hvezda Excavating.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt at 7:01 PM to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
