MINUTES ARE UNAPPROVED UNTIL THE MARCH 2017 ANNUAL MEETING.

 

Lake Mary Township Annual Meeting Agenda– March 8, 2016

The clerk called the meeting to order at 8:15pm with the pledge to the flag. Judy Radil nominated Brad Brejcha as meeting moderator, 2^nd by Tammy Schmidt. Hearing all yeas, motion carried.

Election results as follows: 26 votes total were cast, Brad Breicha was reelected to a three year term as supervisor and Nichole Boyden was reelected to a two year term as clerk. A motion was made by Lorraine Chan to except the election results, 2^nd made by Ronny Tvrdik. Hearing all yeas, motion carried.

Motion made by Jill E, 2^nd by Tammy S. to review the 2015 annual meeting minutes. Hearing all yeas, motion carried.

Fire levies were discussed and the following was submitted from the following Fire Departments for the 2017 budget: Alexandria Fire Department, $18,007, motion to accept by Dean Radil, 2^nd by Nichole. All yeas, motion carried. Forada Fire Department, $16,735, motion to accept by Tammy Schmidt, 2^nd by Sam Radil. All yeas, motion carried.Lowry Fire Department, $3,834, motion to accept by Tammy Schmidt, 2^nd by Lorraine Chan. All yeas, motion carried. Total Fire budget for 2017 was presented at $38,576.00.

First Responders presented requests. Nathan Hvezda from Forada First responders is requesting $1400. Motion made to accept by Mark Grandgenett, 2^nd by Tammy Schmidt. Yeas-all, motion carried. No one from Holmes City present. Motion by Lorraine Chan to give $1,000, 2^nd by Ronny Tvrdik. Yeas-all, motion carried. No representation from Lowry First Responders. Ronny Tvrdik made an amended motion that they receive $600, 2^nd by Jill E. Yeas-all, motion carried. When funds are sent, the township will send a letter that we will need a letter or representation in order to consider a donation.

Alan Zeithamer spoke on behalf of Lakes Area Registration. They sent a letter requesting 3,258.00, no change from last year. Motion by Mark Grandgenette, 2^nd by Julie Freier to approve amount requested. Yeas-all, motion carried.

Tara Engebrecht spoke on behalf of Lake Mary Swimming Lessons. She is asking for $500, same amount as last year. Lessons will be held in 2016 from July 25-August 5^th. Motion by James Schmidt, 2^nd by Tammy Schmidt to approve $500. Yeas-all, motion carried.

Mark Grandgenette spoke on behalf of AAEDC. They are requesting $4,550 for the 2017 year. Motion by Nichole Boyden, 2^nd by Brad Lenertz to approve amount requested. Yeas-all, motion carried.

Lorrain Chan was present to request funds for the Forada Senior Club. Motion by Tammy Schmidt, 2^nd by Jill E to donate $250. Yeas-all, motion carried.

Forada Days submitted a letter requesting support for their annual event. Lorraine Chan made a motion to donate $250 to the event, 2^nd by Julie Freier. Yeas-all, motion carried.

Funding requests were received from Someplace Safe and Douglas County Food SHelf. Discussion was had, no motions were made, requests denied.

Roads were discussed with Runge Grading present.

Discussion was had regarding the March election and the viability of moving the township elections to November. Jill E made a motion to look into what it would take change the election month from March to November, 2^nd by James Schmidt. Yeas-all, motion carried.

The levy was presented to all in attendance for the amount of $00000000000. Motion by Dean Radil, 2^nd by Sam Radil to approve levy, without ALASD levy included.

At 9:30pm, Judy Radil made a motion to adjourn the meeting, 2^nd by Tammy Schmidt. Yeas-all, motion carried.
