The Lake Mary Township Reorganizational meeting was called to order by James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 6:00 PM.
Members present: Supervisors: James Schmidt, Pete Fernholz, and Max Radil;
Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.
A motion was made by Pete Fernholz to appoint James Schmidt as Chairman, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
A motion was made by Max Radil to appoint Pete Fernholz as Vice-Chairman, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the agenda, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
Wages
- Officer Pay:
o Supervisors: LMTcurrently has a monthly stipend for the supervisors. A $150.00 per month stipend for the Chairman, plus Per Diem, and a $125.00 per month stipend for Supervisors, plus Per Diem. A discussion was had on when a supervisor uses their equipment or gets called for an emergency or urgent situation above and beyond, fallen trees, washed out roads, etc. A motion was made by Max Radil to keep the monthly stipend the same for the Chairman and Supervisors, but reimburse them an additional $25 an hour for urgent and above and beyond situations by submitting a filled-out affidavit,2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion Carried 3-0.
o Treasurer: Current salary is $428.00/month plus Per Diem. A motion was made by Pete Fernholz to raise the Treasurer’s salary by 3% to $440.00/month plus Per Diem, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
o Deputy Treasurer: Currently $25/ hour. A motion was made by James Schmidt to keep it as is, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
o Clerk: Current salary $469/month plus Per Diem. A motion was made by Pete Fernholz to raise the Clerk’s salary by 3% to $483.00/month plus Per Diem. In addition, the clerk will get paid a $25.00 hourly wage above the monthly salary when serving as an election judge, performing extra election duties, or duties beyond the normal clerk duties, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
o Deputy Clerk: Currently $25/ hour. A motion was made by James Schmidt to keep the same, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
o Per Diem: Per Diem is currently $90.00 per meeting. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to keep the Per Diem at $90.00 for any meeting attended by the Supervisors, the Clerk, or the Treasurer lasting up to 4 hours, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
o Election judges: Currently $20/hour, Head Judge $25/hour. A motion was made by James Schmidt to keep the election judge wages at $20/hour, and Head Judge $25/hour, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
o Mileage: Currently $.70 /per mile. Federal rate.
- Official Newspaper: Currently Forum Communications (Echo Press). A motion was made by James Schmidt to continue with Forum Communications (Echo Press) as LMT’s official newspaper, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
- Official Bank: Currently, Bell Bank. A motion was made by James Schmidt to continue with Bell Bank as LMT’s official bank, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
- Gopher Bounty: Currently $4/pocket and $0.50/striped. A motion was made by James Schmidt to keep the LMT pocket gopher bounty at $4 and keep the striped gopher bounty at $0.50, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
- Office Supplies: None needed at this time
- Maintenance projects: None at this time.
- Contractor insurance- LMT has current liability insurance forms on file for all active contractors.
- Annual Resolutions:
- AAEDC: AAEDC resolution needs to be redone in 2026.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt at 6:20 PM to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
