UNAPPROVED
The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 PM.
Members present: Supervisors: James Schmidt, Donna Hoeper, and Pete Fernholz;
Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the agenda, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the claims and disbursements #5698-5713,491-2021-3, and PERA1021 in the amount of $39,021.91, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Donna Hoeper to approve the September 2021 minutes with the month August added, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
TREASURERS REPORT: LMT has a balance of $933,161.18 There are no outstanding checks.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR: None
ROAD DISCUSSION:
MnDOT- Mapping: The Geographic Information and Mapping Section (GIM) at the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) along with the Minnesota Association of Townships, are continuing to update maps using GIS (Geographic Information Systems). They are asking the LMT Board to review the Lake Mary Township make and make corrections if needed. The LMT Board reviewed the map, there are no changes at this time.
Fisher- road vacate: A letter was received from Tom Klecker, lawyer, regarding the application of Jerry Fischer for the vacation of a portion of the road dedicated in Jim’s Southside. Jerry Fischer is seeking to vacate a portion of the public roadway regarding the Plats of Jim’s Southside and 1st Addition to Hebel’s Deerwood. The lawyer needs LMT to sign an Affidavit of Service and Consent to move forward. A discussion was had. The document was signed.
Hummingbird Way update: The Hummingbird full depth reclamation will be put on hold until the spring of 2022, as Riley Brothers are behind in their schedule.
Swing away mailboxes Update: A total of 106 Swing Away mailbox supports were installed on the remaining tars for $110.00 per support. A motion was made by James Schmidt to assess the parcels that had the supports installed a one-time assessment fee of $110.00 on their 2022 property taxes, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
Hearing for Roth Sub-division-Adeline’s Acres: A hearing on the sub-division was held this evening at 6:25 at the office.
Alexandria Dist. 206 School Board election Tues. Nov. 2nd: The election for the District 206 School Board position will be held Tuesday, November 2nd. From 7:00 AM -8:00 PM. LMT will again be the polling Place for Lake Mary, Holmes City, and Reno Townships.
Payroll taxes/ election judges on payroll: A discussion was had. Payroll taxes and Election Judge pay will stay as-is.
ARPA funding update/reports: The 1st report for the ARPA funding that was to be due in October, was now changed to be due in March 2022.
NEW BUSINESS
ALASD 2022 sewer allocation: The 2022 sewer allocation for Lake Mary Township will be
Townhall -pest control/cleaning/garbage/rent: Laurie Huber, who has been cleaning the townhall would like to resign at the end of the year. A discussion was had. LMT will check into the cost of having Service Master clean the hall, depending on cost may have the townhall professionally cleaned quarterly and look into other options for monthly cleaning. The town hall has a mouse issue. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to have Plunkett's Pest control do bi-monthly bait box stations inside and outside of the building for a cost of $60.00, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0. The townhall does not have any garbage service, up to now, renters were responsible for taking garbage and Board members had been taking the normal monthly garbage. A discussion was had. James Schmidt made a motion to have West Central Sanitation provide a will-call pick up service with a 2-yard dumpster with a lock for $35.00 per month with a will-call pickup fee of $50.00 when the dumpster is full, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0. A discussion was had regarding increasing the rental fee for the townhall due to the extra cleaning that is needed and that garbage service will now be included. A motion was made by James Schmidt to increase the rental fee for the use of the townhall from $50.00 to $60.00 per event, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried.
Dangerous dog permit: A dangerous dog permit was issued to a resident at the location of 8271 Little Mary Circle.
Land use/sewer permits: The land use and sewer permits were reviewed.
District meeting online: Recordings of the Virtual August district meetings
Calendar: The October and November calendars were reviewed.

MAILBAG- Mailbag was reviewed and discussed.
