Monthly Meeting
August 9, 2021

 

The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 pm.

Members present: Supervisors: James Schmidt, Donna Hoeper, and Pete Fernholz;

Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the agenda with 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the claims and disbursements #5673- 5683, and PERA0821 in the amount of $7,059.15, 2nd by Donna Hoeper.  Motion carried 3-0.   

A Motion was made by Donna Hoeper to approve the 2021 minutes with punctuation correction, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.

TREASURERS REPORT: LMT has a balance of $967,035.07 There are no outstanding checks. ARPA funding for $60,738.97 was received. Bell Bank has set up the LMT account so it will automatically sweep funding into the ICS account if the dollar amount in the checking account goes over $250,000.00, and vice versa when the dollar amount goes under.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.       

ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR: None

ROAD DISCUSSION:

Hummingbird Way: James Schmidt will get a tentative start date so a notification can be put on the website.

OLD BUSINESS:  

ARPA Money: American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding was received. Discission was had. More information continues to become available for allowed uses of the funding.

Swing away mailboxes/Pospisil: The Matthies mailbox post was repaired to its original condition. No monetary reimbursement will be given.

  NEW BUSINESS

2022 Township Aid notice: LMT received notification that the township aid for 2022 will be $2,692.00.

2022 Douglas County redistricting: An email was received from the Auditors office regarding the year 2020 census, which means that in 2022, the state and local districts will be reviewing their boundaries and determining a redistricting plan to balance out the number of residents served within each legislative, county commissioner and city districts. In Douglas County, the local redistricting plan will mainly affect the county commissioner districts and Alexandria City boundaries (city ward boundary lines).  However, the results of statewide and local redistricting will affect all of us as residents and voters.

Ottertail Power Company Easement: Ottertail Power needs easement permission, to run a powerline through the road right of way on Little Mary Circle to provide electricity to new construction. The easement agreement was signed.

MATIT- LMT Commercial Insurance: The LMT Commercial Insurance policy for November 2021- November 2022 was reviewed. A motion was made by James Schmidt to accept the policy and grant payment, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.

REA Annual Meeting/ Elections: REA annual meeting will be held on August 17th, 2021.

District 206 Primary Election: The District 206 Primary Election for a school board position is August 10, 2021. Polls are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM

District 9 Annual Meeting: The District 9 Annual Meeting will be held Monday, August 16, 2021, in Pelican Rapids, MN.

MAT Annual Conference: The MAT Annual Conference will be held inSt Cloud-Sept 9-11, 2021.

Land Use Permits: None received 

Calendar: August and September calendars were reviewed and discussed.

Next Meeting: Sept. 14, 2021 @ 7:00 PM

MAILBAG- Mailbag was reviewed and discussed.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt at 7:32 PM to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
