Monthly Meeting

The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 pm.

Members present: Supervisors: James Schmidt, Donna Hoeper, and Pete Fernholz;

Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.

 

A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve agenda, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the bills in the amount of $31,086.67,                  2nd by Pete Fernholz.  Motion carried 3-0.   

A Motion was made by Donna Hoeper to approve the July 2020 minutes, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.

TREASURERS REPORT: LMT has a balance of $217,919.10. There is one outstanding check for $500.00.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.

           

ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR:  Dick Quitmeyer inquired about holding Lake Andrew Lake Association meetings at the Lake Mary Town Hall. Information was given to him.

 

ROAD DISCUSSION:

 

  1. Swing away mailboxes: The revised Swing Away mailbox resolution was reviewed and discussed. The mailboxes and stands would be assessed in the 20121 taxes. Sue Hanson will check on when the deadline is for tax assessment for the year 2021.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  

 

  1. CARES Act Money: The CARES Act money was received in the amount of$28,200.00, the money was put in the COVID-19 fund to be used for unbudgeted expenses due to COVID-19.

 

  1. GovOffice- update: An email was received from GovOffice regarding using the CARES Act money to update the LMT website. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to update the LMT website with GovOffice as long as this is a qualification under the CARES Act funding, 2nd by Pete Fernholz.

 

  1. Annual District meeting- August 17th 7:00 PM-Zoom: The Annual District 9 meeting will be held on August 17 on ZOOM.

 

  NEW BUSINESS

  1. 2021 Township Aid notice: LMT will receive $2,522.00 for Township Aid in 2021.

 

  1. Election CARES Act money: Notice was received from the Douglas County Auditor’s office that LMT is eligible for $768.00 in a special Election CARES Act funding. The township can request the money to use but will need to submit records of spending to the County, or the township can opt to let the County keep and utilized the money for election expenses. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to let Douglas County keep the funding for election expenses, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.

 

 

  1. Utility room at town hall: The new utility sink had been installed; this will provide an extra area for handwashing and access to water easier for cleaning purposes. Sue Hanson asked if it was possible if the extra roads signs and posts could be moved out of the utility room and put elsewhere or scraped if not usable.

 

 

  1. Primary Election Overview: Sue Hanson went over the primary election. The polls were open from 7 A.M. to 8 P.M. LMT had 141 voters.

 

 

  1. Land Use Permits: Land Use Permits were reviewed and discussed

 

 

  1. Calendar: The MAT calendar was reviewed and discussed.

 

  1. Next Meeting: The next LMT monthly meeting will be held on Sept. 08, 2020, @ 7:00 PM

 

MAILBAG- Mailbag was reviewed and discussed.

 

A Motion was made by James Schmidt at 7:58 P.M. to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0
