The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 6:22 PM.
Members present Supervisors: James Schmidt, Max Radil, and Pete Fernholz;
Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.
A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the agenda with 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the claims and disbursements #6191- 6202 and PERA0224 in the amount of $11,493.96, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the January 2024 minutes, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.
TREASURERS REPORT: There are two outstanding checks. A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0
ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR: None
ROAD DISCUSSION:
2024 Publication for new gravel and road maintenance quotes: The publication for the 2024 road maintenance quotes were reviewed and discussed.
Serenity Sign: The road sign for Serenity Dr. has been repaired.
OLD BUSINESS:
Newsletter: The final draft of the 2024 newsletter was reviewed and OK’d.
BSSA Powerline: Todd Langston from Ottertail Power and Josh Humburg, project manager were present to speak to the board regarding the proposed BSSA powerline, discussing the route and construction time frame.
Fern-Roth/Solar Gen: Max Radil attended the informational meeting put on by Solar Gen. A discussion was had.
Budget 2024: The proposed levy for LMT 2025 was set at the Board of Audit and Budget meeting. The proposed levy is $487,896.25.
Variance- Sam Radil: A variance was applied for building a garage. LMT has no issues with this variance.
SunOpta-Bio Solids/Fergus Power Pump: Notice was given to LMT for SunOpta to spread Bio Solids on a parcel in LMT. A discussion was had. LMT has no issue with this.
Census- LMT Boundaries: There are no changes to report at this time.
Review ballot/publish or post and public notices: The ballot for the LMT Annual Election was reviewed. A notice of the township election including an alternate bad weather date will be published and posted. A motion was made by Max Radil to post and not publish the sample ballot, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.
Mn Benefit Association-Life Ins/MATIT extension: The Township life insurance invoice is due April 1, 2024. There is an option to increase the life insurance for the board members. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to increase the life insurance benefit for board members from $10,000.00 to $15,000.00 due to cost increases, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0. The consolidated coverage policy premium renewal through MATIT for LMT has been extended to June 2024.
Township Day at the Capitol: Township Capitol Day will be held on April 8th & 9th.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt at 7:05 PM to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
