The Lake Mary Township monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 pm.

Members present; Supervisors: James Schmidt, Max Radil, and Pete Fernholz;

Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.

A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the agenda with 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the claims and disbursements #6039-6057, and PERA0523 in the amount of $50,476.41, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.   

A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the April 2023 minutes, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.

A Motion was made by Pete Fernholz to approve the 2023 Reorganizational minutes, 2nd by James Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0.

A Motion was made by Max Radil to approve the 2023 Board of Appeals minutes, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.

TREASURERS REPORT:  There were 2 outstanding checks from April, which have now gone through.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.       

ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR:  None

ROAD DISCUSSION:

  1. Road review-approve minutes A discussion was had. A Motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the 2023 Road Review minutes and notes, with there will be no shouldering of tars roads after June and a change of Steve Hvezda placing the culvert on Long Lake Ln. instead of Runge Grading added, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0
  1. Rocks in ditches on tars: A discussion was had. LMT will not be placing any shouldering material on tars after June from now on. LMT will not be responsible for cleaning any rocks out of the road right away in grassy areas caused by snow plowing.
  1. Culverts- Capital Projects: A discussion was had. All culvert projects for 2023-2024 and the ditch project on Oriole Ln. will be taken out of the Capital Projects Fund.
  1. Dean Radil-Long Lake Ln: Dean Radil will have 16” diameter pit unit placed and the area in the culvert vicinity tiled on the West end of Long Lake Ln. The work is being done by Steve Hvezda. Steve Hvezda will also place the new culvert the township is replacing in that area.

OLD BUSINESS: 

Maple Lake Swimming: The Maple Lake swimming lessons are projected to take place this year.

Approve Levy form: The completed 2023/2024 Levy form (Minus the ALASD contribution) from the March Annual Meeting was reviewed. A motion was made by Pete Fernholz stating the form was correct, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried.

Excel Energy- Power line: Max Radil attended the Meeting sponsored by Excel Energy. The powerline will most likely cross through Lake Mary Township, the exact location of this is still undetermined.

Board of Appeal and Equalization report: Lake Mary Township, lake home values have increased per foot.

Record Retention: A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to approve Resolution 05-2023 adopting the Minnesota Township General Records Retention Schedule,2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.

  NEW BUSINESS

Auditor Report: Brian Kohen, an Auditor, was present and went over the 2022-year-end audit report and findings for LMT. A discussion was had. A motion was made by James Schmidt to accept the auditor report for the 2022-year end, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.

Approach Application parcel #30-0479-000: An application for an approach was received. Max viewed and locate was done. OK to approve the permit.

Chickens: There is no ordinance in LMT about residents owning chickens.

Land Use/Sewer Permits: None were received.

Calendar: The May and June calendars were reviewed

Next meeting: June 13, 2023, at 7:00 PM

MAILBAG- Mailbag was reviewed and discussed.

A Motion was made by James Schmidt at 7:57 PM to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Max Radil. Motion carried 3-0.
