Monthly Meeting
December 14, 2021

 

The Lake Mary Township December monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman, James Schmidt, with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 pm.

Members present: Supervisors: James Schmidt, Donna Hoeper, and Pete Fernholz;

Clerk, Sue Hanson, and Treasurer, Christy Tvrdik.

A motion was made by James Schmidt by to approve agenda 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.

A motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the claims and disbursements #5725- 5740 and PERA1221 in the amount of $96,417.59, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.   

A motion was made by Donna Hoeper to approve the November 2021 minutes with a date correction, 2nd by Pete Fernholz. Motion carried 3-0.

TREASURERS REPORT: LMT has a balance of $ 897,932.75. There are no outstanding checks. More ARPA funding was received for $1983.39. The 2nd 2021 tax settlement of $189,913.95 was deposited on December 1st. A motion was made by James Schmidt to approve the Treasures report as read, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.        

ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR:  None

ROAD DISCUSSION: Jeff Runge reported that all gravel roads have been graded. They are currently working on cutting problem trees in the road right of ways. The 2021 gravel bill was received.

OLD BUSINESS:  

Service Master/ cleaning: A discussion was had regarding Service Master stripping and refinishing floors. The town hall needs to be emptied before the floor can be redone. Sue Hanson will check with Service Master if they could schedule a mover for this service so the entire project would be billed through Service Master.

ALASD board member: LMT has contacted Gaylen Lerohl to see if he is still interested in serving LMT as the ALASD Board member. If Gaylen Lerohl is not interested, LMT has an alternate candidate that is interested in serving LMT on the ALASD Board.

Newsletter: A discussion was had. Changes that need to be made in the newsletter will be reviewed at the January meeting.

  NEW BUSINESS

Auditor- Brian Koehn CPA: LMT auditor, Brian Koehn, has been dealing with medical issues.

Special assessment year-end report: There is one parcel remaining with a balance and payments on their LMT sewer assessment.

Walvatne Addition on Lake Mary: A hearing is being held this evening for a variance for the subdivision of the Walvatne Addition. LMT has no issues with this variance.

Year-end/ January meeting: The 1st of January falls on a weekend in 2022, making it difficult to get the closing of 2021 done before the January meeting. A discussion was had. The January monthly meeting will be moved to Tuesday, January 18th at 7:00 PM.

Set up meetings- Board of Audit/ regular March Meeting: A discussion was had. The regular February monthly meeting will be held Wednesday, February 16th at 7:00 PM, and the Board of Audit meeting will be held before the regular meeting at 5:30 PM. The regular March monthly meeting will be held on Monday, March 14th at 7:00 PM.

Training on ARPA Spending Resolutions: MAT will have a video available for viewing on their website with information on adopting ARPA money spending resolutions.

Calendar: The December and January calendars were reviewed. The candidate filing period for Supervisor and Clerk positions will be open from December 28th – January 11th.

MAILBAG- Mailbag was reviewed and discussed.

A motion was made by James Schmidt at 7:53 PM to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Donna Hoeper. Motion carried 3-0.
